The lord of lives and the Owner of twenty four Gold Umbrellas sitting
on a throne of the Gold Lotus of the country of White Elephants, Its
Majesty King of Thailand, Pumipon Adul'yadet (the Rama IX) the Person who
rules the country longer than any monarch in the world and who deserved
immense loyalty of people, seemed very far from a throne during the
moment of the birth in 1927 in Cambridge, state of Massachusetts. At this
time the king Prachathipok ruled the country, and had several sons
which were to inherit. Besides hiss father, prince Mahidon Songela studied
medicine at the Harward university, and its senior brother-prince Anand
Mahidon was alive. It seemed, that the future to king Pimiponu
Aduljadetu more or less a usual life in relative obscurity though undoubtedly,
strictly directed by his father, who wished to use his education and
social status for improvement of public welfare.

The destiny, however, has disposed otherwise. Prince Mahtdon has died
in 1929, and in 1935 renunciation of a throne of king Prachzhathipoka
has followed. Young king Anand Mahidon the first 11 years of his ruling,
spent in Switzerland with mother, the sister and the younger brother
where he continued the education until was called back home because of
the beginning of the Second world war. In 1946 he has died, and Prince
Pumipon Aduljadet who was 19 years old, unexpectedly for itself became
the ninth king of dynasty Chakri. Subsequently it has returned to Lucerne
to continue the formation, having borrowed in studying of political
sciences and the rights in conformity with the new role.

Two years later, during visit in Fontenblo, it has met young and fine
Mom Rachavang Sirinkit Kittaiara, the daughter of the Thai ambassador in
France, Its Highness of Prince Nakkatrmongkola Kittajakara. In 1948
about their engagement was announced to the government. They married in
Bangkok on April, 28th, 1950, and seven days after Its Majesty has been
crowned in conformity with ancient ceremony which took place in the Big
royal palace, whence its predecessors operated kingdom.

Interesting, that he himself has chosen modest country house Chitralada
as official Bangkok residences, firmly following the Oath of successor
to the throne, given during the crowning: We will rule fairly for the
sake of the Blessing and happiness of Siamese people ".

As the person, King Pumipong Aduljadet possesses a number of
outstanding talents. He is the prominent musician and the composer, particularly
in jazz music; one of his songs was a hit of the program in one of
musical on the Broadway in the beginning of 50-s' years, and his teachers
were Goodman and Aionel Hampton. When a youth he took a great interest
in sailing and has won a gold medal on competitions of 1967.
